Galvanizing refers to the surface treatment technology of plating a layer of zinc on the surface of metal, alloy or other materials to play a role in aesthetics and rust prevention. The main method is hot dip galvanizing.
Properties of zinc plating:	Zinc coating is thick, with fine and uniform crystallization, no pores and good corrosion resistance; The zinc layer obtained by electroplating is pure, and it corrodes slowly in acid, alkali and other fog, which can effectively protect the fastener matrix. The galvanized layer is passivated by chromic acid to form white, color, military green and so on, which is beautiful and elegant. It has certain decoration. Because the galvanized layer has good ductility, it can be cold-punched, rolled and bent without damaging the coating.
Use of zinc plating:	Galvanizing involves more and more fields, and fastener products have been widely used in machinery manufacturing, making galvanized crochet nets, electronics, precision instruments, chemical industry, transportation, aerospace and so on, which is of great significance in the national economy.
Composition of zinc plating	(1) Low carbon: Due to the high requirements of toughness, weldability and cold formability, its carbon content shall not exceed 0.20%. (2) Adding alloying elements mainly containing manganese. (3) Adding auxiliary elements such as niobium, titanium or vanadium: a small amount of niobium, titanium or vanadium forms fine carbides or carbonitrides in the steel, which is beneficial to obtain fine ferrite grains and improve the strength and toughness of the steel. In addition, adding a small amount of copper (≤0.4%) and phosphorus (about 0.1%) can improve the corrosion resistance. Adding a small amount of rare earth elements can remove sulfur and gas, purify steel and improve toughness and technological properties.
